Are you losing your motivation to workout as this lockdown drags on? You are definitely not alone! Even as a personal trainer, I too struggle from time to time. It’s so important for us to keep healthy both mentally and physically, so today I want to share some ways to help you stay active at home. 💪🏼
- Pick workouts that are tangible and at your level. Don’t let a difficult workout defeat you. You want to feel good after a workout and be excited to do it again.
- Mix up your workouts and make them FUN! Example: HIIT, kickboxing, yoga, run/walk, strength training, dance! Different types of workouts will spice up your week.
- Find a virtual accountability partner. Reaching out to a friend or two and having each other to rely on can make training alone much easier.
- Make small goals! Setting a small goal will be more attainable to achieve and will keep you motivated to crush it. Example: Complete one push-up by the end of March.
- Set time for it! Psychically write it down in your schedule and make it part of your daily routine. You will be more mentally prepared.
- Treat yourself to some new fitness gear 😁 Ok, this one is not entirely a must, but I have to admit, I get excited to workout when I feel great in my athletic gear!
