My multipurpose room needed a boost of fun and colour, so I created this little mini gallery wall for just under $40! Finding the prints/digital artwork was the best part of this project. My advice is don’t over think it. Choose pieces that speak to you, but most importantly have fun with it and don’t try so hard to make everything match; no piece is ever wrong! I found all my prints online for FREE! (Check back soon for my next blog post, where I’ll be sharing the links to the prints I used). I ordered my prints online from
DIY NO-SEW CONVERSATION HEART PILLOWS
I have mixed feeling about Valentine’s Day. I do feel like it’s a little over-rated and commercialized, but then I also feel like it forces us to stop just for one day to really appreciate and show our love to all the important people in our lives… not just for significant others, but for family and friends too! And who can ignore those yummy and cute candies like conversation hearts, cinnamon hearts & chocolate kisses. I’m not gonna lie, I’m guilty of buying all that cheesy shit. This year I wanted to add a little Valentine’s decor to my home too. (Let’s face it, any chance I get to decorate, I’m gonna!) I came up with the idea to make my favourite conversation heart candies into a pillow, but later found out that it’s been done a bunch of times already on the web. So, unfortunately I can’t take credit for this awesome idea, but it’s not going to stop me from making them and posting how I personally made mine! These pillows are so cute and extremely easy to make. You don’t have to know how to sew; you just a need a glue gun. And can I add, who ever invented the hot glue gun is a genius! Literally the best invention ever. Anyway, if you have about an hour free, continue reading and follow along to make one too!
DIY TUFTED HEADBOARD
Buy vs. Make?!?!
This topic ran through my head for a whole month before making a final decision. Here’s why; I’ve always wanted a white tufted headboard after seeing how dreamy Jillian Harris’ bedroom is (Obsessed!), so off I went to do some research online to find the perfect one. Let me tell you, it’s not easy finding a white tufted headboard. Lots of Ivory or off-white, but no plain white! I did eventually come across a few, of course extremely expensive, but I was mostly hesitant because it’s such a big purchase and not being able to see it physically and not knowing if the white was my vision of the perfect white, scared me! …And let’s face it, returns suck!!! However, on the flip side, I was afraid of making a headboard because what if it turns out crappy and cheap looking? I’ll end up not using it, wasting my money and time and be back at square one again with the process of finding one! Phew! My thoughts are exhausting. I am so grateful I have good friends who put up with my crazy indecisiveness. Lol! They helped me make my decision and let me tell you, I am so happy I saved my money and went the route of making one! It’s a fun project to do and the end product looks great in my eyes. I’m in love with it! Keep reading to see how I made mine…
EASY DIY STORAGE BENCH
One of the major challenges I faced when moving to the big city is not having enough storage. Oh the struggle! Trying to find places for all my stuff, but at the same time have a clutter-free and pretty place. When I first moved into my condo I envisioned something totally different for my front entrance, but as I was unpacking and realized how many freakin’ shoes I had, there was no way I was fitting them all in my tiny entrance closet. Ugh! Onto plan B! After getting some inspiration on Pinterest, I decided to go with a practical and great idea of getting a storage bench. I went on the hunt for the perfect one and didn’t really find anything I liked and in my budget. Soooo… I decided to make my own! The bench project actually turned out to be super easy! You can get it done in one day. I’m very pleased with the outcome and the best part was I saved a good amount of money!!! If you are interested in making one yourself keep on reading.
