My multipurpose room needed a boost of fun and colour, so I created this little mini gallery wall for just under $40! Finding the prints/digital artwork was the best part of this project. My advice is don’t over think it. Choose pieces that speak to you, but most importantly have fun with it and don’t try so hard to make everything match; no piece is ever wrong! I found all my prints online for FREE! (Check back soon for my next blog post, where I’ll be sharing the links to the prints I used). I ordered my prints online from Staples. I believe the smaller prints were $0.35 CAD and the larger prints were $0.89 CAD. Really cheap! Frames can get pricey, so I suggest you go to thrift shop and see what you can find. I found all of mine at Value Village for around $30. I brought them home and played around with the layout and once satisfied, I traced each picture frame onto some wrapping paper. I used the paper tracings to be able to lay it out on the wall using tape. I pretty much just eye-balled it, working from the centre out. I spray painted my frames three different colours; black, gold and white. If you want a more clean and uniform finish, I would suggest to spray paint your frames all the same colour. It’s really just preference though. (Make sure to take out the glass and matting before spray painting). Once I let them dry, I put in all the artwork I chose into the frames. Using a hammer, nails and some picture frame wire, I slowly eventually got them all up. I love my new gallery wall! It’s s budget-friendly DIY project that will instantly elevate your ordinary empty walls.
Happy DIY-ing!

Char I love your gallery wall and the way you arranged your display. I purchased 2 Black and White abstracts from etsy. John’s printed them on canvas but we still need to mount on foamcore and hang. I will post them on IG and source them. Changing out art is fun and can give interest in each seasons change. Your room is inspirational.
