Whether you’re celebrating a special event or just want a fun little gathering with your friends, a picnic is such a great idea especially during this pandemic. There’s no better combination than good food, beautiful weather and the best company!
What’s nice about picnics is you can do it almost anywhere. You can be in a big city or a small town, a forest or a beach. You don’t even need a bench to make a picnic; just plop yourselves down on a blanket in any open area! Although, if you want to enhance your picnic experience, you can find a location with a pretty view like a park overlooking the water or a quiet beach. I suggest having your picnic a few hours before sunset; it’s a little cooler, great for pictures and you’ll have a guaranteed picturesque scenery when the sun sets.
As for the food, you can really get creative with it. The menu can be simple and easy like little sandwiches or a colourful charcuterie board, or you can go full out and do something out of the ordinary and through a themed picnic like a Mexican fiesta. There really are no rules!
If planning and decorating isn’t your thing, there are services out there that can help bring your picnic to life. My friends and I collaborated with four amazing vendors to create the prettiest picnic overlooking the beautiful Hamilton harbour. We had such an amazing time catching up over wine and cheese. Here’s a little peek into our lovely evening. All the little details really made it so memorable. I hope this will give you some inspiration to plan your own picnic with friends and/or family.
