Thanksgiving is right around the corner so it’s time to start setting those tables!
Table décor is often over-looked because we tend to focus on what’s happening in the kitchen, like slaving away on the turkey and baking desserts; I totally get it! But it’s the first thing your guest will see, so having an inviting space really helps set the tone for your company. Your table decor doesn’t have to be over the top elaborate. In fact, it should be fun and easy. Here are three main tips to create a simple Thanksgiving table setting.
1. Give life to your table with a centrepiece
The centerpiece is my favourite part of styling the table. Adding flowers and greenery such as the eucalyptus, (which I used), gives instant life to your table and adds an element of prettiness. Pumpkins are a great way to add that classic Thanksgiving touch. Use different sizes for a variety of dimension. I also added some candles, which are a great way to set the mood for later in the evening. Be creative with your centerpieces. There are no rules or boundaries when it comes to what you decide to feature. And remember it doesn’t have to be fancy to be fabulous!
2. You can never go wrong with classic dinnerware
I love the A La Carte dinner and serve ware collection from Kitchen Stuff Plus, mostly because they can be used on a regular basis but are also stylish enough to use when company comes over. Also, you can never go wrong with white porcelain and this porcelain is very durable and won’t stain. My favourite style from the collection is the ‘Diamond’ textured pattern because it gives a touch of elegance. It was the perfect set to use for my Thanksgiving tablescape.
3. Add your own personal touches
Whether it’s a nametag or a sentimental quote, there’s something special about adding extra details to make your guest feel special. Since it’s Thanksgiving, a thoughtful idea is to write their name on their place card and mention why you are thankful to have them in your life.
I hope these tips will make your prep to Thanksgiving dinner effortless. Have a wonderful celebration spending time with your loved ones!
